Mark Ferlito DPT, CFMT, CSCS, RRCA Run Coach

Hola Che!

Mark Ferlito, originally from California, completed his BA in Psychology at The University of Southern California before embarking on a transformative journey to Argentina. Immersed in Spanish language and culture, he fulfilled a lifelong goal of conversing fluently with his father in his native language. Upon returning to the United States, Mark discovered a newfound passion for marathon running, which sparked his interest in pursuing a career in Physical Therapy.

Motivated by his own successful rehabilitation from a running injury, Mark pursued a career in Physical Therapy to help others achieve their highest level of function and quality of life. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from New York University in 2015, where he was introduced to The Institute of Physical Art (IPA) and the practice of Functional Manual Therapy.

Mark's dedication to advancing his skills led him to complete a rigorous IPA Orthopedic Residency under the mentorship of IPA fellow Sam Kabat, PT, CFMT, FFMT, FAAOMPT. Following his residency, Mark established his own orthopedic practice in San Francisco, where he gained invaluable experience as a primary care provider in collaboration with a network of talented practitioners including MDs, DOs, and Athletic Trainers.

Driven by his commitment to providing comprehensive care, Mark returned to New York to further his education and expertise. He achieved Certification in Functional Manual Therapy (CFMT) through IPA in 2020. He continues to expand his knowledge through additional training at the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, the Spinal Manipulation Institute, as well as the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation and Barral Institutes.

Beyond the clinic, Mark enjoys spending time with his hound dog, indulging in his passions for running and cycling, and seeking out the very best coffee spots.

Jahzyah Parache, a Long Island native, developed a deep appreciation for movement and rehabilitation through his own active lifestyle. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from CUNY Hunter College, where he served as a class representative for three years, demonstrating his commitment to professional growth and leadership.

Jahzyah was introduced to Functional Manual Therapy (FMT) during his clinical training and is currently pursuing certification through the Institute of Physical Art. His passion for hands-on treatment and movement optimization has been shaped by diverse clinical experiences, including an affiliation at Johnson and Johnson Physical Therapy in Steamboat Springs, CO, where he trained under Gregg Johnson, PT, FFMT, FAAOMPT, a pioneer in the field with over 55 years of experience. Jahzyah also gained valuable experience working in acute care at The University of Chicago Medical Center, where he supported patients on the Orthopedic Trauma floor, as well as in settings where he assisted individuals with limb loss in regaining mobility and independence through prosthetic training.

Now practicing in a one-on-one setting, Jahzyah focuses on delivering personalized, high-quality care by truly listening to each patient's unique story, ensuring that every treatment plan is tailored to help them recover efficiently and return to the activities they love. Dedicated to lifelong learning, he continues to refine his clinical skills through ongoing education in manual therapy, movement analysis, and neurodynamic treatment. His current continuing education coursework is primarily driven by the methodologies of the Institute of Physical Art (IPA) and the Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) approach.

Outside the clinic, Jahzyah enjoys trail running with his dog, snowboarding, and exploring new places. He is also a devoted New York Giants fan and a strong advocate for the role of physical therapy in maintaining an active, healthy lifestyle.

Lissa Swinton is our invaluable office administrator, essential to the smooth operation of our practice. She streamlines patient care, ensuring everything runs efficiently and seamlessly, making her a crucial and trusted member of our team.

Previous experience has led Lisa to join our team as the perfect fit! Lisa attended the Aveda Institute of Arts and Science, where she completed 600 hours of training to become a licensed esthetician. Lisa also holds an associate degree in Business Administration, which gives her a solid foundation in both wellness and business management.

She first met Dani and Mark in 2021 when she began dog-sitting for them. Since then, she has become an integral part of their team. Now, she plays a key role in the organization, assisting with scheduling, supporting the staff, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Lisa is the go-to person for getting things done!

When Lisa isn’t at the office, she’s often spending time with her playful Bassador, June Bug, or binge-watching medical dramas and sitcoms. She enjoys relaxing on the weekends, and if she’s not watching a show, you’ll likely find her with her head buried in a book!
